Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting in awhile! Life's been busy with school starting.

Anyway, let's go to the news. Kingsisle has found some bugs in the game, some of which include getting stuck in walls in Celestia, mounts like the Moonlight, Sunshine, and Starshine ponies all having their spots removed. (Read the full list here: https://www.wizard101.com/game/news/september2012)

Also, Kingsisle has released the Phoenix hoard pack! This pack is based on Dragonspyre, and includes some cool stuff like the 2-seater Phoenix mount, the Gargoyle pet, among others. There has been some drama involving the packs recently, but so far this pack doesn't seem to have any problems with it. :)

There are some new elixirs in the crowns shop too:

Bric-a-Brac Decorating Elixir: Increases the item limit of your house by 50 items

Additional Castle space Elixir: Increases (by one) the limit of houses you can have

Crafting Elixir: Refills all crafting countdown timers.

Hatching Elixir: Hatches all the eggs you have in your backpack.

Purreaus' Potion #9: Reset your hatching timer so you can hatch again right away.

The follow-up Forbes article

The article on Kingsisle by Forbes magazine had enough shares and Tweets to get everyone who logs into the game on the 21 or 22 2,500 gold. There weren't enough comments, however, to get the storm beetle pet. Kingsisle must be feeling generous, because they gave us a second chance to get this awesome pet. 

There was a follow-up article on Wizard101's success by Forbes, and if they get 15,000 Facebook shares, we will get the storm beetle. If it gets 20,000 shares, we get a brave hound pet. Christmas in July!

It's that time again, Wizards! Christmas has arrived! Until Sunday, July 15, that is. Kingsisle has brought back items from Yuletide to beat the heat! During this time, you will be able to visit Felix Navidad, enjoy some Christmas decorations throughout the Commons, and buy limited-time items from the crowns shop. Also, you can receive one free item ranging from a rare reagent (amber dust) to the Milk and Cookies furniture item. Items that have reappeared are the Boon Tree (plant), Happy Holidaisy (plant), Snowball (pet), Arctic Ninja Pig (pet), Mixed Candy Cane (mount), Red Candy Cane (mount), and select furniture items. Note that not all of these items will be in the crowns shop, some will be with Felix.

The 3rd Annual Ravenwood Ball!

The Ravenwood Ball is a huge party thrown by Diary of A Wizard's Fallon Shadowblade. It is a very fun event, and a great place to meet new friends. This year, the event will start out at Ravenwood, Vampire Realm, Area 1, but once that gets full, those who have signed up to host will have mini-parties at their castles. Everyone is welcome, but it is recommended you RSVP at Diary of a Wizards webpage (link at bottom). It is requested that you remove your mounts and pets for the ball, so people who run Wiz101 on an older computer don't need to experience lag. As I said before, the event will start at Ravenwood, but will branch of to different locations. The Ravenwood Ball will take place on SATURDAY, AUGUST 12 at 4:00 Central. Hope to see you there!

Avalon is here!

Avalon is a world full of wonder and history. Who's history in particular? Why, Ravenwood's very own Merle Ambrose came from Avalon! With lush green trees and mythical creatures, it seems like nothing could go wrong in this beautiful world... but Morganthe has trouble brewing.

In a quest to secure the Sword of Kings, the legendary blade of Avalon once held by King Artorius, your Wizard must face Morganthe's minions. Along the way meet witches, knights and more creatures in the woods of Avalon in your journey to save the Spiral.

Run through the deep faerie forest of Weirwood and be sure you keep an eye on the Froudlings. There are surprises around every turn in Avalon, but Morganthe has her eye on you. Maybe your Wizard will finally get the Morganthe showdown that you've been hoping for?

Ahoy Mateys! Welcome to Pirate 101!

Ahoy, ye' scurvy dogs!

Pirate101 is a free to play MMO Pirate adventure game with flying ships, board game combat and far off worlds that's safe for kids and fun for players of all ages! The game allows players to create their own Pirate to sail through the Skyway in hopes of treasure and daring quests.

Pirate101 is family friendly, but challenging enough for players of all ages. We are currently awaiting our exclusive closed Beta. You can sign-up for more information as Pirate101 continues to grow and develop.

Your character have five (5) different classes to choose from:

Swashbuckler
The Swashbuckler is very much a DPS-centric sort of pirate. You can use swords and daggers in a fight and perform best when fencing it out with your foes. The class has some great abilities that go with it. Everything in the Swashbuckler arsenal maximizes melee combat so it helps to have a ranged style companion with you when adventuring. Different from the bully style Buccaneer (more on him later) the Swashbuckler relies on finesse in a fight to defeat his foes.
Witchdoctor
The Witchdoctor class is the closest to a mage class in the game. The Pirate wields some spells and voodoo thrown in for fun. They are very much a ranged and support style class to help your crew win the day. The Witchdoctor’s abilities focus around powerful attacks which are great for eliminating groups of foes. The cinematic of the Witch Doctor attacks is great with all kinds of voodoo symbols. When playing a Witch Doctor it would help for you to have a powerful melee crew member as your first rank. This way you can have your crew jump into the fight while you cast your spells from afar.

Musketeer
Master of Muskets (go figure), the Musketeer class is the top ranged damage class in the game. Their focus is damage from afar and can get some great attacks to enhance their fire power. This class is fun if you like standing on the edge of a fight and blowing things up with your gun (which is more of a lightning taser, that allows the musketeer to shock its opponents from afar, and does not use bullets). The Musketeer can do a lot from afar with high powered shots or solid area of effect impacts to take on multiple targets at once.
Privateer
The Privateer is the closest thing in the game to a healer. Their role is to buff their crews with inspiring shouts and calls. This allows the crew to fight better and work together. They are also good in naval combat and have some skills to help them out in ship fights. The Privateer class is definitely important if you want your group to survive the thick of a scrap with some scallywags.
Buccaneer
The Buccaneer is the brawler of the group. Fast and furious they are similar to a tank class in other games. Players who want to stand in the front line and go toe to toe with the baddies; well this is the class for you. Where the Swashbuckler swings and dodges, the Buccaneer basically beats up his opponents. This is a great class to try and get the hang of the game with as they can survive and fight a long time.
The classes in Pirate 101 are a great mix of classic archetypes brought into the pirate world. The unique skills each class gets throughout their career work very well in the combat scenarios and are enhanced by the crew. With the board game style combat there are a lot of options. You can also train your companions as they level up as well giving them lots of options when you enter combat. There is also a way to rank your companions so that you always have your top tier showing up in a fight. As the fights get more complex more companions can enter the battle.

Similar to Wizard 101, players can also help each other in combat. That you can read about in the Combat feature. For now, the classes are a great start when the game will be launched. They give a clear list of skills that players can relate too. Pirate 101 does an amazing job of keeping the game easy in the beginning and growing the depth of class design as you level up. They also allow the game play to be mastered with a safe learning curve. This helps both older and younger players learn the game as they go.

The puzzle has been completed

The puzzle containing new content has been completed! The puzzle revealed the new world Avalon! There are six (6) zones along with fifteen (15) new areas! The level capacity is being raised to level 80, there are going to be four (4) new spells for each school, along with new gardening spells and equipment!
Avalon is currently in the test realm, but expected to be going live next week.

together to discover the magic?

Over the next few weeks our incredible lineup of official Wizard101 fansites will be releasing individual puzzle pieces. Search all our fansites to find their puzzle pieces and start to put the puzzle together for yourself!

Will it be a new house? a new world? a new adventure? All will be revealed when all the puzzle pieces have been discovered. There are over 60 pieces in total, so watch these sites for new puzzle pieces to be released over the next few weeks!

The puzzler

Now, as I am sure you have seen, there is a puzzle about wizard101 where fansites are given pieces of the puzzle. I haven't completed the puzzle, and I am not sure if all the pieces have been handed out, but I saw on Twitter that on the puzzle it said "Avalon". For those of you who don't know what Avalon is, Avalon is the island that hosted the King Arthur legend. In the legends, King Arthur went to Avalon to heal from battle wounds, and it was also where he forged his sword, Excalibur. We have seen monsters, so it looks like Avalon will be a new world (yay!) that will have a medieval theme. No one knows yet if it will be a side world, like Grizzleheim, or a main world.

My Waterworks run

I just completed Waterworks. It was the most difficult thing I have done in-game. I went in with four other wizards, but then at the beginning one had to leave. So the three of us continue on, until the last valve, when another person has to leave. It is just me and one other lv. 63 pyromancer. I wanted to abandon it and leave, but he showed me some tricks he had learned. So we got to the last fight, just me and him, and we started the fight. It was the hardest and longest fight I had ever been in. I sad there for +40 minutes, muddling through the battle, and we won. I was about halfway through 60, and I got 49,000 exp from the battle, not the quest. I didn't even get the mastery amulet I was hoping for.

Legendary!

Being legendary comes with many perks. Sure, there is the training point, the title, among others, but you also receive access to the dungeons Waterworks and Tower of the Helephant. These instances are supposed to be the toughest in the game, and have very tough enemies.

I just made legendary, and I am looking for other Wizards to do the WW or the TOTH dungeons. I won't be in game this Monday-Thursday, but I am sending out and SOS to any wizards who want to do the dungeons.

As more and more Wizards join our community, more and more items are being squirrelled away in storage - time to share the wealth! Head to the Bazaar and sell those items that are just taking up room in your storage. One Wizard's trash is another Wizard's treasure.

For those of you at the max gold limit or for items that you cannot sell at the Bazaar, you can also feed most items to your pets to level them up! I can't think of an easier way to level up your pet than just standing in your house feeding it old unused items.

Looking for something to do with all your gold? Why not buy a house with gold just for your pets, or just for gardening!
